Johnny Strozier Keeping It Real March 12 Broadcast

Johnny Strozier, our host, spent 46 years in Georgia penal system although he says he never murdered or kidnapped anyone. He entered prison as a 10-year-old in 1968 and exited on parole in 2013, having spent essentially a lifetime behind bars. As he came of age as a young prisoner, Johnny was rebellious and angry. He credits his conversion to Christianity for his "new life" as a free man, relatively speaking. Listen to our broadcast of March 12, 2016 at the Blogtalkradio link below for our "Human Rights Demand" program.
Johnny taught himself how to read and write while incarcerated. He took classes in brick masonry, cooking, and other available subjects and gained proficiency and certification in several trades. He also married while still a prisoner and now resides in the Atlanta area with his wife. Johnny Strozier struggles against the odds to make a successful reentry, understanding that "a man must think right and act right so that things will go right in his life." Being a good Christian and a gainfully employed man were Johnny's main priorities after parole. July 2016 will mark Johnny's third year as a free man, a status he never enjoyed until his mid-50's.
Strozier assembled a network of individuals, including former prisoners, church members, and human rights advocates, who are dedicated, as he is, to reducing recidivism among prison parolees and encouraging youths to avoid conduct that would lead to incarceration. Please join us most Saturday nights at "Human Rights Demand" for conversations with Strozier and his panel of guest speakers, and access previously broadcasts. Encourage your church's prison ministry, released prisoners, and young people to please join us and share their ideas on the air live at 9pm Saturdays at 347.857.3293.

As we approach the commemoration of the Easter Execution, we urge mercy, empathy, and help for reentering citizens and an end to the death penalty in America. We hope decision makers (voters) will demand better reentry opportunities for people who God loves and sacrificed His Son to give a Second Chance, which He did for us all. We spoke on the show about this being the second anniversary of the execution of Ray Jasper in Texas. "Every shut eye ain't sleep, and every goodbye ain't gone." Jasper will live forever in the words he wrote after 15 years on death row with his execution imminent. "Human Rights Demand" believes everyone should have their say, even condemned men and women! Please read and share Jasper's letter at "Human Rights for Prisoners March" at this link:

For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary;
From heaven the Lord viewed the earth,
To hear the groaning of the prisoner,
To release those appointed to death!

Hear and share the radio broadcast if you care about ministers being allowed to protest circumstances they perceive as being outside the will of God.

Discuss whether Fresno PD is righteous to target people who use the #blacklivesmatter hashtag and participate in public protests after police killings. Is Rev. Harris wrong, or should more ministers follow the methods of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.and protest with the People against oppression, especially after police shootings are perceived as causing wrongful deaths (Prov. 31:8-9)?

HAPPY DR. KING DAY 2016!
